What is a Lazy Key? The Lazy key is a cleverly made aftermarket attachment for D104 Desktop CB Radio Microphones. An actual old school original D104 Mic is operated by squeezing the lever next to the stem of the microphone into the stem causing the radio to "key up". This is how the microphone is affectionately dubbed by many as the "chicken choker". The Lazy Key allows a more efficient form of operation on the same microphone via a easy pressing downward motion. This easier operation as dubbed "The Lazy Key".
My Opinion? D104 operation alone is easy. There is really no need for such added operation, BUT, the Lazy Key is more than a clever novelty. Besides that, they are somewhat rare. Anyone knows that D104's have been around a long time. They also quit making the final version of this mic. The Lazy Key would be the perfection addition to anyone's D104 and/or Collection. The Lazy Key is quite a little rare mechanism itself. It's obviously a "one off" creation of a clever mind. If anything, the Lazy key is quite a conversation piece.
