If you are an avid cb radio enthusiast, you may have heard people talking about the Philippines Model CB Radios. CBers may have said it as "The Philippino Model". If I remember correctly, the idea was that certain Cobra & Uniden CB Radios made in the Philippines were of "Better Build Quality". It was also mentioned that the quality of wire and components used in these radios was held to a greater standard than newer models.

Simply put, the status of these radios has it's own personal mystique cb radio. Someone getting a hold of a Philippines Model Cobra 29 for example, would tend to consider it more of a treasure than an ordinary 29 LTD Classic.

Is this all a bunch of nonsense? The answer is no. It's totally true. People that work on these radios tend to complain about the cheap thin wire used in new model radios. You might ask your own "Radio Doctor" or CB technician about this subject. Whether it all amounts to novelty or not, these radios tend to generate a good amount of interest.
