12V POWER SUPPLIES

12 Volt Power Supply for Cb Radio & Ham Radio

Here we have twelve volt power supplies for CB Radio and Amateur Ham Radio Use. Choose between Astron & Pyramid brand units. We have of course the old reliable Astron power supplies. Astron is a good standard and often considered a work horse. And finally we have the Pyramid brand supplies. Pyramid have proven themselves reliable with great performance for those on a budget. I speak from experience as I personally own a Pyramid PS-52K 50 amp twelve volt power supply that has been left on for over a year. It's a great power supply. I also own a Astron 20a that has given me over 3 years of trouble free operation. You can't go wrong about any of the purchases below. I have heard around the grapevine Fatboy takes pretty good care of their customers. Shop with confidence and enjoy!

NOTE: Before connecting a piece of electronic equipment to your new or used recently purchased 12 volt power supply, first check the voltage. Use a simple volt meter to verify the power supply is properly adjusted from the factory or previous owner. The voltage should be somewhere between 13.5 and 14.5 volts. If the power supply is out of voltage adjustment a qualified technician will remove the cover and adjust the adjustment on the circuit board with a plastic screwdriver. Please be warned there is deadly voltages floating around in there. If you are unsure of your abilities at all, a qualified service technician at a tv/stereo shop would probably adjust the power supply for you for little or no money. The goal here being not to plug in expensive gear to a power supply before you have verified it's adjusted for proper voltage levels. This also goes for those power supplies with variable voltage output. You want to make sure the power supply is not putting out too much if the dial was turned all the way to the right.
